MSc in HIV/AIDS Prevention and Sexual Health Strategy

This is an important and challenging course for people who are working or are interested in working at management level in HIV/AIDS prevention and sexual health planning. HIV/AIDS is now the biggest healthcare challenge in the developing world, where in some countries one third of the population is infected with HIV. This postgraduate programme examines the HIV/AIDS strategic prevention tools that are available and the overall sexual health strategy. The degree is awarded by The International University of Ministry and Education (TIU-ME), Missouri, USA..

In order to be awarded the degree, students are required to complete 180 academic credits by studying the following modules:-

Admission Requirements

Applicants should meet one of the following entry requirements:-

  • Hold a recognised degree in any subject
  • Hold an appropriate professional qualification
  • Hold a qualification lower than the ones above, but have at least 2 years management experience
  • Hold no formal qualifications, but have at least 8 years management experience.

Course Delivery and Attendance

The course is delivered in a variety of ways, including direct teaching, tutorials, seminars, workshops and research. Students are required to meet the attendance requirements in order graduate.

Assessment

Assessment is based on a variety of methods, including presentations, reports, assignments, research projects and formal examinations.

Course Commencement Date

January and September each year.

Duration of Course

12 months - full-time (taught)
This course will change to 15 months (taught) from September 2008

Tuition Fees

£4,500 (minimum deposit to enrol is £1000)
